Protest NextEra at the VA Chamber of Commerce
Here is our opportunity to send a message to NextEra that they are not welcome in Virginia. NextEra President and CEO John Ketchum will be speaking at the VA Chambers’ Forum on Infrastructure. The title of the program: Power and Possibility: The “NextEra” for Dominion Energy
We’ll be outside “greeting” forum attendees with signs and chants as they enter the convention center. Where orange, our campaign color!
WHEN: Thursday, October 15th, 8 AM to 9 AM
WHERE: Richmond Convention Center, 403 N 3rd St, Richmond, VA 23219
Please let us know if you plan to come!
WHAT: Join us outside the Richmond Convention Center to protest the NextEra buyout of Dominion, a deal that will:
- raise our electric bills while fattening corporate profits
- pollute our air with new climate harming fracked gas plants to power data centers, and
- corrupt our politics with millions more spent on campaign contributions and lobbying
Bring a copy of your electric bill for a ceremonial shredding of our ever rising bills. Express your feelings about rising electric bills, new gas plants and the merger with your homemade signs.
